Opel has launched the Corsa Individual, a new special edition of its supermini, in Germany. Available to order online from € 23,890 (US$ 28,958), just € 150 (US$ 182) shy of the Ford Fiesta ST hot hatch’s promotional starting price of € 24,040 (US$ 29,140), it uses a 1.2-liter petrol engine rated at 100 PS that’s mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

Opel claims that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds and reach a top speed 194 km/h, while it has a 5.4-5.9 l/100 km (43.6-39.9 mpg US) average fuel consumption on the WLTP cycle and emits 122-134 g/km of CO2. The 200 PS Fiesta ST, on the other hand, will get you to 100 km/h in under 7 seconds, en route to a top speed of 230 km/h.

Performance may not be the Corsa Individual’s strong point, but design is. It is offered in a black paint finish with red accents, sits on 17-inch light alloy wheels and gets a similar makeover inside, with front sports seats, aluminum pedals, black roof lining and a generous range of equipment.

The model builds on the mid-spec Corsa GS Line and comes with heated front seats and steering wheel, reversing camera, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, USB, and LED exterior lights. The park assist, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, intelligent cruise control with speed limiter and driver drowsiness detection are also included.
