The BMW X4’s facelift has been spotted again, this time in both regular and M-Sport variants. Discovered roaming around public roads in its hometown of Munich, the two cars sport some changes over their outgoing models, albeit very minor from what it appears.
As for the front, both cars’ sharp,
angular headlights seem to be inspired by the 2-Series Gran Coupe, while the
grille seems to be 7-Series-esque with its sharp crease near the top. As for
the latter, we’re glad to see it’s not going to be sharing its face with its
4-Series cousin, although who knows; it might come with the next generation.
In the rear, things seem to be almost
identical to the current model, with the exception of some cleaner lines and
slimmer-looking taillights. The M-Sport version features more aggressive
bodywork and wheels over the regular model, although that is no different from
the current setup.
While there are no photos of the interior,
the crossover is believed to benefit from a larger infotainment system running
BMW’s latest software. It would also include a revised center console with a
new shifter, updated switchgear, and possibly, a revised iDrive controller.
However, as of right now, this hasn’t been confirmed yet.
As for what’s under the hood, its not quite
clear yet, but the facelifted X4 is likely to retain the same engine options it
currently has. For North America, that would mean a 2.0-liter inline-four
making 248 hp and 350 Nm of torque in the
xDrive30i, and a 3.0-liter inline-six making 382 hp and 500 Nm of torque in the xDriveM40i. The luxury crossover is expected to
make its debut sometime this year, where we’ll get to see the changes for
ourselves.
