The Ford Bronco appears to be a runaway success as the order book is reportedly full through mid-2022. Ford wants to keep that momentum going and it appears the company will be churning out special editions just like their rivals at Jeep. While we’ve already seen the Bronco First Edition, the next special edition will be a little more interesting. It features a handful of old school styling cues and is expected to be called the Heritage Edition.
The changes are hard to see at first
glance, but the prototype has been equipped with an egg crate grille that
recalls the one used on the original Bronco. The model also sports
retro-inspired wheels that are wrapped in 35-inch Goodyear tires from the
Sasquatch package. While the wheels are painted black on this prototype, they
could be painted white on the production model to match the grille.
There doesn’t appear to be any other
changes, but the retro styling cues will likely continue in the cabin. There’s
no word on what to expect, but we wouldn’t be surprised to find special
upholstery and badging. While it seems unlikely, a digital reinterpretation of
the classic speedometer would also be a nice touch.
Little else is known about the Heritage
Edition at this point, but the standard Bronco features a turbocharged
2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 270 hp and 420 Nm torque of torque. Customers can also upgrade to a twin-turbo
2.7-liter V6 pumping out 310 hp and 542 Nm of
torque.
