Since FAW founded the Bestune sub-brand in 2018, it has launched the T99, T77, and T33 models. A compact CUV called the T55 joins them now. The car is 4,437 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, 1,625 tall and has 2,650 mm of wheelbase. Wheel sizes start at 18 inches.

While technically based on the MFA chassis, the T55 uses its simplest and cheapest implementation with semi-dependent rear axle suspension.

Interior features include a couple of 12.3-inch screens, hardware HVAC controls, and a gear selector knob. The top trim level introduces buyers to imitation leather, a panoramic roof, AEB, and power-adjustable front seats.

A 1.5-liter turbo rated at 169 PS is the only engine available, and it links to a seven-range dual-wet-clutch transmission. AWD is not and will not be an option, and the top speed lies at 190 km/h.

Pre-orders are already running in China starting from US$ 16,000.
