Carmaker GWM Pickup will be bringing a new production car to the 2021 Auto Shanghai show, which has Wey Tank underpinnings, belongs to the P Series, and is called Huopao for the time being. Chinese media claim that the truck will be based on a new SUV-friendly platform developed by Great Wall, as well as independent suspension with optional air shocks, AWD, and electronic damper control.

The badge reveals that the car is a P Series vehicle, while the dual tailpipes hint at an internal combustion engine under the hood. The LED stripe at the rear end may or may not make it into production, but the side mirrors and door handles look mundane enough for a market release.

The company says the powertrain formula is 3.0T+9AT, which must mean a 3.0-liter petrol turbo with 354 PS and 750 Nm of torque linked to a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic. Great Wall currently produces this kind of powertrain. The truck is expected to reach the market next year, because it is missing from the roadmap for 2021. A hybrid version may also be on the list, while a pure EV is unlikely.
