Aston Martin Toronto today unveiled the 2022 DBX Great Lakes Specification that was designed in collaboration with Q by Aston Martin. The model is inspired by the Great Lakes that lie between the United States and Canada. That’s why the DBX was painted Seychelles Blue, a paint color that first debuted on an Aston Martin almost 60 years ago.
It also features 22-inch,
ribbon-diamond-turned wheels that are enhanced by hand-painted Seychelles Blue
accents. The wheels mark the first time Q by Aston Martin has commissioned a
painted wheel, the company says.
Inside, the DBX is finished with Dark
Knight Caithness leather that was chosen to symbolize the depth of Lake
Superior and the stillness of Lake Erie. It also features special flourishes
like the machined and knurled billet aluminum trim pieces and engraved
door-sill plaques that feature the silhouette of Lake Ontario on the driver
side and Lake Erie on the passenger side.
The DBX Great Lakes Edition made its
public debut recently at the Aston Martin Owners Club’s Great Lakes Gathering,
on the shores closest to the intersections of Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, in
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Created this year by the Aston Martin Owners
Club, the Great Lakes Gathering is a brand-specific Concours d’Elegance with
more than 45 vehicles on display for the one-day event held at the Stratus
Vineyard.
