Stellantis is celebrating Mopar’s 85th anniversary by introducing the Mopar ‘22 Dodge Durango, ahead of its debut at SEMA. The latest in a long line of Mopar special editions, the model is based on the 2022 Durango R/T AWD and comes equipped with the Plus Group as well as the Tow N Go Package.

On the styling front, the special edition is available exclusively with a White Knuckle or DB Black paint job. Regardless of which color is selected, buyers will find a Mopar Blue body stripe, a Mopar-branded grille, and 20-inch wheels that are backed up by blue Brembo calipers. Furthermore, the model has been equipped with a 1 inch (25 mm) lowering kit that promises to provide “improved handling, tighter cornering and quicker response.”

Interior changes are modest, but the cabin has been equipped with leather and suede front seats that feature a Mopar logo embroidered into the backrests. Other highlights include blue contrast stitching, sport pedals, all-weather floor mats, and an individually numbered badge on the dashboard.

Under the hood, there’s a familiar 5.7-liter HEMI V8 pumping out 360 hp. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to an all-wheel drive system. Customers will also find a limited-slip differential and an active damping suspension.

Production will be limited to 250 units with 200 for America and 50 for Canada. The package costs US$ 3,995 and dealers will begin accepting orders early next year. As an added bonus, buyers will receive a special owner’s kit that includes a “personalized metal certificate of authenticity with [a] serialized vehicle-build number and a special rendering of the vehicle by the Mopar Design team.”
