BMW will be replacing the current 5-Series with a brand-new one sometime around 2023, as well as introducing an all-electric version of it dubbed the i5. A recent spy photo manages to show the latter from the inside.

Calling it informative would be a stretch with all the camouflage and fake panels, of course, but some details can still be discerned. These include a large steering wheel squared off from below with sensor panels on the spokes. There is also a rather impressively sized dash display, which probably serves both dashboard and multimedia functions. Motor1 opines that the new 5-Series could ship in two body styles – sedan and wagon – but with the same interior design.

Earlier rumors had claimed that the most powerful electric 5-Series would have 750 PS at its disposal. We should be able to learn more towards late 2022, when the Bavarian automaker may begin slowly unveiling the next generation.
