BYD, a popular Chinese automobiles manufacturer, has announced that the company will be showcasing its BYD Yuan Plus electric SUV car at the upcoming 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show on 19th November. The BYD Yuan Plus is the first pure electric SUV based on the new BYD e-Platform 3.0 which debuted in the BYD Dolphin (BYD EA1). It is said to integrate features like intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics.
The peak parameters offered by the
platform include 800-volt system voltage, 0-97 km/h acceleration
time of 2.9 seconds, and a range of 966 km. The platform packs the
Blade Battery and a heat pump as standard. It can offer up to 800V charging
capacity in some applications.
BYD Yuan Plus is a compact SUV with a
length, width, and height of 4,455 mm, 1,875 mm, and 1,615 mm, respectively. In
China, the EV will be made available in two variants — one with a range of 430
km and another with a 510 km range. Both the variants will have a single motor
generating 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque.
As noted above, the BYD Yuan Plus will be
physically unveiled at the upcoming Guangzhou Auto Show that will take place
between 19th November and 28th November. It will be made available for purchase
in Q1 2022 (January-March 2022) with prices ranging between CNY 130,000 and
160,000 which is roughly between US$ 20,349 and US$ 25,045.
Earlier this year, it was announced that
Nexport will be selling the BYD Yuan Plus in Australia from October this year.
However, the rollout has been delayed “by a couple of months” because of
production and shipping setbacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
