Emmanuel Macron has a new ride as a special DS 7 Crossback Élysée has entered service in the French Presidential fleet. Based on the DS 7 Crossback E-Tense 300, the model measures 4,790 mm long thanks to a wheelbase that has been extended by 200 mm. That isn’t the only change as the crossover has been armored and outfitted with flag holders, flashing lights, and an Ink Blue paint job. The model also sports RF badges, unique 20-inch wheels, and a shark fin antenna for a special telecommunications system.
The changes continue in the cabin as the
DS 7 Crossback has been equipped with two individual rear seats that feature
power adjustment and are separated by a full-length center console. Speaking of
the latter, it features a wireless smartphone charger as well as controls for
the heated and ventilated rear seats. Other notable highlights include Basalt
Black leather, Alcantara upholstery and gloss black accents. We can also see a
rear seat entertainment system and RF badging.
One thing that remains the same is the
plug-in hybrid powertrain, which consists of a PureTech engine, two electric
motors, and a 13.2 kWh battery pack. It enables the all-wheel drive crossover
to produce a combined output of 296 hp and 520 Nm of torque.
Of course, the armoring and extended
length likely have a huge impact on its performance. DS is staying tight-lipped
about that, but the standard model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in
5.9 seconds and travel up to 58 km on electricity alone. The DS 7
Crossback Élysée made its entrance today as the vehicle was used during
ceremonies commemorating the Armistice of 11 November 1918, which ended World
War I.
