While all 599 examples of the Ferrari Daytona SP3 were sold to interested parties well before last weekend’s official presentation in typical exotic automaker fashion, we mere mortals can have the chance to create our dream hypercar through the automaker’s official configurator.
Two different configurators have been
launched. The first is dubbed the ‘3D Experience’ while the second is named
‘Photorealism.’ Depending on the hardware of your computer [editor’s note – my
desktop browsers crashed multiple times], you may only be able to load the
‘Photorealism’ option, which is much more simplified.
If your computer is up to the task of the
3D Experience, you will be welcomed to a world of near-limitless options. These
start out with a plethora of different paint colors. Choosing just one is
difficult, although we were particularly fond of the Blu Tour de France option.
With the main paint color selected, you can choose to have Scuderia fender
shields or airbrushed Scuderia fender logos. A host of different livery options
are also available, all of which can be customized to make the hypercar stand
out even further. Our livery includes racing stripes finished in Rosso Mugello.
Just a single wheel design is offered for
the Daytona SP3, although it is available in three different finishes. You can
also choose what color you want the brake calipers to be and can also option a
number of carbon fiber parts; a black ceramic finish for the exhaust is also
available. Many options are also available in the cabin of the ultimate
Ferrari. These include various leather options and for our Daytona SP3, we went
with a tan finish dubbed Sabbia. Different colors are also offered if you’d
prefer to have Alcantara rather than leather.
