A number of intriguing vehicles have been unveiled at the ongoing Guangzhou Auto Show and the all-electric MPV from Hechuang Motors is one of them. This vehicle is dubbed the Hechuang Concept-M and has a striking exterior design headlined by a massive grille that doesn’t appear to serve any cooling purpose and appears to be there solely for visual reasons. It is similar in scale to some of the spindle grilles that current Lexus models have and has been displayed at Guangzhou with an illuminated purple finish.
Elsewhere, the Concept-M sports aggressive
headlights with a full-width LED light bar. The Chinese automaker has also
designed a particularly aggressive bumper dominated by sharp angles, silver
accents, and a large splitter.
Viewed from the side, the all-electric MPV
sits on large black and silver wheels and has lower door accents finished in
blue. Thin wing mirrors are also featured. Found at the rear of the Concept-M
are tinted LED taillights connected with a light bar and featuring angular
light signatures. While MPVs are typically boring a bland, Hechuang’s creation
is very different.
The interior of the concept has not been
showcased at the Guangzhou Auto Show but it will apparently feature a full LCD
instrument panel and a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel. It is not yet
known what kind of electric powertrain is found beneath the skin of the
Concept-M nor when Hechuang plans to bring it to the market. However, vehicles like
the Concept-M, as well as the new Hyundai Staria, show that there is still some
life left in MPVs.
