UK firm Mutt Motorcycles have unveiled two updated FSR models. Still based around a Chinese-built, old-school air-cooled single in either 125 cc/12 bhp or 250 cc/21 bhp guises, the two bikes are the British-based brand’s sportiest, most high-spec offerings yet. Both FSRs feature new 17in, cast alloy wheels wearing street rubber in place of the 18in wires and semi-knobblies of Mutt’s previous scrambler-style models.
There’s also a new front mudguard to match
with neat, TIG-welded stainless steel brackets, a new, low profile seat covered
in Alcantara-style material, bespoke side panels, remote reservoir twin gas
shocks and low-rise aluminium handlebars. Both bikes are then finished off with
lots of higher spec detailing not seen on a Mutt before, including lightweight
aluminium and rubber bar grips with special logoed bar-end plugs, plus
CNC-milled aluminium fork caps and head stem nut, new indicator brackets, and
lighter and shorter pillion and rider footpegs.
Both FSRs are also identically finished in
matt black throughout, including wheels, mudguards and engine. Both machines
keep the same 125cc/250cc air-cooled four-stroke singles used throughout Mutt’s
range. There's also an old-fashioned tubular steel cradle frame and basic front
suspension and brakes. The handling should be more assured too, thanks to their
new wheels and tyres – at least within the limits of the 250’s 21bhp!
The 125 costs £ 3495 with the 250 coming in
at £ 4250, both before on-the-road charges. They also come with a two-year
warranty as standard. Keep an eye out for full reviews on MCN soon.
