The Lotus Emira has just touched down in the United States as part of its official launch tour across the country. The British sports car’s first stop was in the Williamsburg neighborhood of New York City and before the end of the year, it will visit 13 other cities, including Las Vegas and Los Angeles. It will also tour through Florida, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, and Indiana before returning to New York City in December.
Lotus has confirmed that the first variant
of the Emira coming to the United States will be the V6 First Edition model.
Production will kick off in the third quarter of next year with local pricing
to start at US$ 93,900. Powering the car is a mid-mounted Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter
supercharged V6 with 400 hp and 430 Nm. Overseas buyers also have
the option of purchasing the Emira with an AMG-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged
four-cylinder but this engine isn’t coming Stateside until 2023. Mated as
standard to the 3.5-liter V6 is a six-speed manual, while a six-speed automatic
is available for an extra US$ 2,150.
Models sold in the U.S. also come standard
with the Drivers Pack that offers either a Tour suspension setup with Goodyear
Eagle F1 Supersport tires or a Sport suspension tune with Michelin Pilot Sport
Cup 2 tires. A US$ 1,400 Black Pack can be optioned and adds a black finish to the
roof, wing mirror caps, exhaust finisher, and rear Lotus badge.
The Emira comes in seven interior color
choices, including red, black, grey, and tan Nappa leather with black Alcantara
upholstery, while red, yellow, and grey contrast stitching is also available.
