Wolfgang LA, an agency designing ad products for multiple major brands including Adidas, has unveiled an electric off-roader concept named Thundertruck. The car can transform and hit 100 km/h from standstill in 3.5 seconds, but only exists on virtual 3D renderings at this time. Fast Company claims that negotiations with carmakers to build it are already underway, though.
Wolfgang LA executives, Michael Geiger and
Colin Jeffery, say that the numerous automotive industry professionals
participated in the project, including designers, engineers and UI/UX
designers. The vehicle has no hood in the conventional sense of the word and
can transform to adapt to nearly any off-road requirements.
More specifically, the concept has
extensible ramps and running boards, an extra axle that makes it a six-wheeler,
a built-in tent for sleeping out in the wild, and a solar panel array
deployable on the roof. You can use its battery to power your household during
blackout, and you can launch a drone to fly next to your car and output video
on a display next to the driver.
According to Adidas, when the prototype
reaches production it will have 800–940 horsepower. It will be
6.25 meters long with 370 mm of ground clearance. A
traction battery rated at 210 kWh will translate into up to 900 km of driving range.
