The M3 Touring is poised to be one of the German automaker’s most exciting new model launches in 2022 and to ring in the New Year, BMW has released a new teaser video of the car. The clip was filmed in snowy conditions somewhere in Europe and shows the M3 Touring powersliding around turns and putting all of its power to good use while being filmed by a helicopter. It ultimately spells out ‘2022’ in the snow.
BMW enthusiasts have been clamoring for an
M3 Touring for many years and, finally, the Bavarian automaker will offer
customers a new alternative to the Audi RS4 Avant and Mercedes-AMG C 63 S
Estate. The carmaker has yet to confirm technical specifications about the M3
Touring but it will probably be sold exclusively in Competition guise. If
that’s the case, that means it will rock a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged
inline-six producing the same 503 hp and 650 Nm of torque as the
current M3 sedan and M4 Coupe Competition. Moreover, it will likely be
available exclusively with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive system and an
eight-speed automatic transmission.
While there are many people out there who
believe the exterior styling of the new M3 and M4 have missed the marked, it
has been demonstrated time and time again that they are two of the finest
driver’s cars on the market and noticeably better than their immediate
predecessors – which, of course, bodes well for the upcoming M3 Touring.
