Hyundai revealed the Tucson “Beast” concept which is going to be featured in the upcoming film “Uncharted”. The movie car is based on the production-spec Tucson but has received a number of off-road-focused modifications making it look tougher and more capable than any other unibody SUV.
The vehicle was created by the team at Hyundai Design and
Technical Center in Irvine, California, in collaboration with Sony Pictures.
Changes over the regular C-SUV include the protective bull bar at the front,
extra LED bars, a snorkel, a custom roof rack, side steps, and bolt-on fenders
for an adventurous look. A set of black-finished steel wheels are shod in Nitto
A/T tires by Toyo, while the suspension looks jacked up allowing for increased
ground clearance and better off-road angles.
The “Uncharted” by Sony Pictures will premiere in movie
theaters on February 11 in the UK and on February 18 in the US. The film is
based on the popular video games for the PlayStation consoles, featuring a
heist job organized by a treasure hunter. Actor Tom Holland will be starring in
the role of Nathan Drake, alongside Mark Wahlberg (Victor “Sully” Sullivan),
and Antonio Banderas (Moncanda).
Besides the Tucson “Beast”, other vehicles appearing in the
“Uncharted” film include the Genesis G90, G80, and GV90. The regular Tucson
also appears in a global TV commercial with Tom Holland called “Car Wash”. This
is the second time Hyundai collaborates with Sony Pictures after “Spider-Man:
No Way Home”.
