Nissan had launched the Fairlady Z in the Tokyo Auto Salon – aka the new Z in markets outside Japan. Alongside the production model, the automaker exhibited the Fairlady Z Customized Proto, a concept car previewing aftermarket parts that could be available for the sportscar in the future.
The latter is featured in an official video that was
published by Nissan on YouTube, giving us a better look at its unique bodykit.
While the video is CGI, we get to see the Fairlady Z Customized Proto in motion
for the first time. It also includes close-up shots highlighting the changes
over the stock model.
Besides the redesigned front bumper with the split-grille
design and the pronounced splitter that comes into focus, the concept gets
fender add-ons, side sill extensions with carbon-fiber accents, a slightly
larger rear spoiler, and different exhaust pipes. The orange exterior with
black details is inspired by the Z432R which was the only Fairlady Z sharing
the S20 engine with the first-gen Skyline GT-R. The retro-flavored tuned look
is complemented by the black-finished 19-inch alloy wheels shod in Dunlop tires
featuring white-faced Nissan Z lettering.
