2022 Maruti S-Cross is expected to launch in May this year as confirmed by a few dealerships who start accepting unofficial bookings for the crossover. The car made its international debut last year and is now on its way to India. There is no official word on the launch of the new generation S-Cross yet but it is already being tested for the Indian market. It will come with the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated SHVS petrol engine in India but it gets a 1.4-litre turbo with 48V tech in the international market.
In terms of styling, it carries over the
same shape and certain elements that’ll remind you of its predecessor but there
are substantial changes that make it look more SUVish. The front profile gets a
redesigned hood, larger grille with a chrome strip, new set of headlamps and a
new bumper design with faux skid plate.
The side profile looks similar but it gets
newly designed alloys. The rear has a love it or hate it design with
exaggerated tail lamp cluster connected with a chrome strip in the middle. The
interior gets a new dashboard design and a larger floating touchscreen
infotainment system with the latest UI. There is a revised instrument cluster
as well. Other parts of the car like the steering wheel, AC switches, window
switches, etc. are carried over from the outgoing model.
We can expect Maruti to offer more
features with the new S-Cross in India.
