The Alpha Motor Corporation has quietly unveiled the updated Ace Coupe lineup. lated to be offered in Ace, Ace Performance Edition, and Super Ace guise, the model has seen a “significant increase in wheelbase to accommodate next-generation battery technology.” The company didn’t go into many specifics, but noted the model now measures 4,280 mm long, 1,840 mm wide and 1,430 mm tall. While the company only mentioned an increase in wheelbase, all dimensions have changed as the coupe is now 100 mm longer, 46 mm narrower, and 20 mm lower than before.
Those aren’t the only changes as the
updated model features new headlights and a lightly revised grille. The
interior also looks more production-ready as it sports a digital instrument
cluster, a smaller infotainment system, air vents, and a basic center console.
Furthermore, Alpha has teamed up with AMP
for an “all-encompassing ‘Energy Ecosystem’ comprising of eCloud, battery
management system, and cutting-edge charging solutions.” The company said the
partnership allows for bi-directional charging as well as an Energy Management
Unit that is small, lightweight, and energy efficient – thus improving range.
The company went on to say the coupe is envisioned to have a DC fast charging
capability as well as an on-board charger with a capacity of up to 11 kW.
Despite these changes, the company lists
identical performance specifications for both the old and new model. That
should raise plenty of eyebrows, but Alpha claims the updated Ace should weigh 1,633 kg, have a range of 402+ km and accelerate from 0-96 km/h in six seconds. However, the company noted all
specifications are “projected estimations” and, as the unveiling of the updated
Ace shows, they’re subject to change.
There’s still no word on when the models
will arrive, but the company said they’ve been “working towards making its
creations accessible through lean manufacturing, distribution partnerships, and
collaborations with metaverse productions.” Of course, if they arrive is likely
a more important question than when.
