Motorhome specialist Winnebago has just finished assembling its 500,000 camper at its Iowa factory in the USA. As chance would have it, it was not a large motorhome, but a humble Revel 4x4 on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis.
Winnebago has been making vehicles for
adventurers for six decades now, but the anniversary one is special in a number
of ways. For one, it wears a grey-and-red livery with a depiction of a moose
and has a giant number 500,000 on its side. To celebrate the milestone, the
management of the factory freed all employees from their immediate tasks and
gathered them in the main facility.
The Revel 4x4 is an RV with only two beds
on board targeting traveling couples. It features a full-fledged shower cabin
with a portable WC, a kitchen with a stainless-steel sink, a fridge, and large
fresh/used water tanks.
Power for on-board appliance comes from
dual lithium-ion battery units summing up to 124 Ampere-hours of capacity, and
users can charge them from solar panels. Prices start from US$ 200,000.
