David Brown Automotive and the U.K.’s Marshall Amplification have partnered to create a special edition of the Mini Remastered. The model celebrates the 60th anniversary of the company famed for its role in rock and roll history. The model, itself a celebration of a 60s icon, is distinguished by its use of a unique color palette, that’s designed to remind buyers of Marshall’s famed amplifiers. That means a body painted in “Marshall Black” and highlighted with gold accents.
The bespoke color treatment includes
Marshall Gold hand-painted coachline, pinstripes, and the brand’s logo along
the side doors. The highlights go much deeper than that, though. Behind the
12-inch “Classic” wheels, the brake calipers are finished in the same shade of
gold. Up front, meanwhile, beyond being in enamel gold, the grille is designed
to look like the mesh on a Marshall amp. Other brightwork, meanwhile, is
finished in dark chrome, for a “sultry, rock and roll” look.
Inside, the same theming continues. The
pedals, for instance, are also finished in gold and are engraved with “skip
track,” “pause,” and “play” motifs as a nod to Marhsall’s musical background. Of
course, the sound system is also upgraded for this model with unique features
designed as a partnership between David Brown Automotive and Marshall. New
dashtop tweeters, additional speakers in the doors, and upgraded equipment in
the rear parcel shelf all contribute to an improved audio experience. The
glovebox also features an induction charging point for Marshall’s latest
wireless headphones, in case you want a more personal listening experience.
In addition to all of that, the trunk is
leather-lined and houses a fully-integrated Marshall DSL1 Combo amplifier that
slides out for easy access. And, finally, owners will also get a portable
Bluetooth speaker with their car. As a nod to the company’s anniversary, David
Brown Automotive will build just 60 Mini Remastered Marshall Edition models
that will be painstakingly hand-crafted.
