Cadillac has announced initial specifications for the all-wheel drive Lyriq during an Ask Me Anything event on Instagram. Noticed by Car & Driver, the event revealed the all-wheel drive Lyriq can tow up to 1,588 kg and will have a combined output of approximately 500 hp.
The latter figure is a significant
improvement over the rear-wheel drive model, which has a single electric motor
developing 340 hp and 440 Nm of torque. It also
compares favorably to rivals such as the Audi e-tron, which has a dual motor
all-wheel drive system developing up to 402 hp and 664 Nm of torque. The all-wheel drive Lyriq also bests the Jaguar I-Pace
EV400, which packs a combined output of 394 hp and 693 Nm of torque.
However, there’s still a lot we don’t know
including pricing and range. That being said, the rear-wheel drive variant
starts at US$ 59,990 and has a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that provides 502 km of range. When the battery is low, owners will be thankful for
the 190 kW DC fast charging capability that can provide up to 122 km of range in as little as 10 minutes. At home, the Lyriq supports Level 2 chargers
at rates up to 19.2 kW and this can provide up to 84 km of range for
every hour of charging.
Deliveries of the Cadillac Lyriq Debut
Edition are slated to begin this summer, while additional variants will follow
in the fall.
