The Chevrolet Bolt EUV was introduced last year, but it suffered a disastrous launch that was marred by a massive battery recall and a temporary halt to production. The problems have now been worked out and Chevrolet is trying to get things back on track with the 2023 Bolt EUV. While the model appears to largely carryover, buyers will find a new Redline sport appearance package that embraces a dark aesthetic.
The Redline Edition is available in three
colors – including Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic and Silver Flare
Metallic – and each features a handful of special touches including 17-inch
gloss black wheels with contrasting red accents. They’re joined by red decals
on the mirror caps as well as black and red “Bolt EUV” badging on the rear
hatch. Interior changes are relatively modest, but Chevrolet noted a “Jet black
leather interior with red accent stitching is available on both LT and Premier
trims.”
Chevrolet didn’t say much else about the
2023 Bolt EUV, but we shouldn’t expect major changes. As a result, the model
likely has a 65 kWh battery pack that powers a front-mounted electric motor
developing 200 hp and 360 Nm of torque. This
should enable the crossover to accelerate from 0-96 km/h in 7.0
seconds and travel 398 km between charges.
While the bowtie brand is going to have to
work hard to rebuild consumer confidence, the Bolt EUV features a spacious
interior with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.2-inch infotainment
system. The model is also notable for offering Super Cruise, which allows for
hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles (321,869 km) of compatible roads
in the United States and Canada.
