Just over a month back, Triumph unveiled its 2022 Trident 660 globally and now the performance bike has been launched in India for a price tag of Rs. 7,58,000/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This price is same as that of the outgoing model and there are no changes to the overall looks and powertrain as well. But, for 2022, the Trident 660 sports a new Matte Baja Orange shade. The colour can be seen on a portion of the tank and on the front mudguard.
The Triumph logo and an art based on the
logo can also be seen on the tank in the new shade. Launched last year for an
introductory price tag of Rs. 6.95 lakhs (ex-showroom), the bike has, so far,
seen price hike up to Rs. 63,000/-. Sporting a mix of a retro and modern
design, the Trident has a circular headlight, a sculpted fuel tank, and a
single piece seat. It has all-LED lighting, a TFT digital cluster, smartphone
connectivity, riding modes (Rain and Road), Showa suspension, and Nissin brakes.
But, the party piece is the 660cc
3-cylinder engine that makes 79.9 HP at 10,250 RPM and 64 Nm at 6250 RPM. Since
the bike only weighs 189 kg (wet), the power figure should warrant spirited
riding at all times. The gearbox is a 6-speed unit with a slip and assist
clutch, while a quickshifter can also be fitted to make the riding experience
even better.
In addition, the bike does come with ABS
and switchable traction control, while Triumph has fitted its 17-inch wheel
rims with 120/70-section front and 180/55-section rear rubber. The existing
colours on offer include – Crystal White, Matt Jet Black and Silver Ice,
Sapphire Black, and Silver Ice Diablo Red.
