The current Audi A6 has been with us since 2018, which means it’s nearing the midpoint of its life cycle. Spy photographers were able to capture the facelifted car out and about during testing, and it appears to feature only minor updates. Unlike the A8 facelift, the refreshed A6 appears to be keeping the same headlight design as the outgoing model, but even aside from that, the changes to the car are very subtle. Up front, the only difference appears to be the design of the lower corner intakes, and potentially the graphics in between those intakes and the headlights. It was also reported that the grille would receive some minor updates, but that doesn’t appear to be present on this test car.
Certain areas of the rear are also supposedly
getting updates such as the taillights and lower bumper, but it’s under too
much camo to tell for sure. It’s worth noting that this is the S-Line model, so
we could end up seeing some slightly more dramatic changes on the base model.
With that being said, this is just a facelift, so we couldn’t imagine any
separate updated design being too wild.
Audi didn’t go through the trouble of
covering the interior, which means if there are any changes, they’re probably
minimal. In all likelihood, the interior will remain virtually identical to the
outgoing model, with the only changes (if any) coming to the infotainment
software and potentially the upholstery/trim options.
Engine options will also likely be
carryovers from the pre-facelift model, with both inline-four and V6 options
(both mild hybrids as standard) on hand for U.S customers, as well as the
addition of diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains for other markets. The
facelifted Audi A6 is expected to debut later this year with production and
sales to follow in the coming months, and pricing should be similar to the
current model.
