The last generation of the Audi RS3 is one of the fastest and most powerful models in the compact segment but tuners have proven that there is always room for improvement. Thus, Manhart previewed a tuning package for both bodystyle flavors of the new RS3, focused on performance.
The stock RS3 is fitted with a
turbocharged five-cylinder 2.5-liter engine producing 394 HP in Europe and 401 HP in the US. Thanks to the addition of the
MHtronik Powerbox module, Manhart took those figures to a more impressive 493
HP. The tuner didn’t announce detailed specifications, but we
are sure that the extra ponies will have a positive effect on the performance,
potentially improving the already impressive 0-100 km/h acceleration
which is completed in 3.8 seconds right from the factory.
The first Manhart RS3 500 is not yet
completed, so the Wuppertal-based tuner released a set of renderings to show
what it will look like. Visually, the factory body kit of the RS 3 was already
quite aggressive with massive air intakes and sculpted fenders. Thus, Manhart
limited its input to a gold decal set, with stripes and accents bringing a
racecar look.
Setting aside the decorations, the Manhart
RS3 got a new set of black 20-inch Concave One alloy wheels. Additionally, the
active suspension has been lowered, bringing both the Hatchback and the Sedan
closer to the ground for a more planted look and handling benefits. Finally,
the new stainless steel exhaust system with valve control will offer a richer
sound, while retaining the signature dual oval tailpipes of the RS model.
Manhart is taking pre-orders for the
tuning package from existing RS 3 owners that want to spice up their hot hatch
or performance sedan even further.
