Chinese automaker Beijing has released the first official photos of the BJ60, a full-size SUV boasting a powerful hybrid drivetrain with three differential locks. The body is 5,020 mm long, 1,955 mm wide and 1,925 mm tall with 2,820 mm between the axles. In its top hybrid specification, the car is expected to sprint 0-100 km/h in six seconds and have around 1,000 km of combined range. There may be other, less powerful variants, too, but the company is not revealing any further details at this moment.

What we do know is that the new BJ60 comes to us with all-wheel drive, three lockable differentials, flexible presets for different terrains, and a special Crawl Mode for heavy off-roading.

The off-roader rides on 20-inch wheels and sports LED headlamps, as well as rather novel-looking taillight patterns. The interior can be configured for two or three seat rows. Options will include a HUD, a digital dashboard, an infotainment system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, 256-hue ambient lighting, and heated/ventilated front seats.

The launch date and pricing details remain to be revealed. The new BJ60 will slot in between the marque’s Jeep Wrangler-inspired BJ40 and G-Class clone BJ80. The former currently starts from 169,000 CNY (roughly US$ 25,000), while the latter can be obtained for 298,000 CNY (US$ 48,000) before any options.
