Changan Automobile on Monday officially unveiled the first model of its new energy vehicle brand Deep Blue, dubbed the “SL03.” The new car is scheduled to be launched at the end of June, and the estimated price is about 200,000 yuan (US$ 30,040).
Deep Blue is reportedly oriented towards
generation-Z consumers, and five new cars have been planned. The SL03 model is
based on Changan’s brand-new EPA1 pure electric platform, providing three power
modes: pure electric, extended range and hydrogen-powered, which makes it the
first mass-produced hydrogen fuel-cell car in China.
The pure electric version is available in
two motor options – 160kW and 190kW – with cruising ranges of 515 km and 712 km
respectively. The extended range version will be equipped with a drive system
consisting of a 1.5L engine and motor, and the comprehensive cruising range
under CLTC conditions reaches 1,200 km. The cruising range of the
hydrogen-powered version under CLTC conditions is 700 km.
In terms of appearance, the SL03 model
adopts some familiar elements of Changan Auto’s UNI-V fuel vehicles. In order
to reduce wind resistance, the new vehicle also adopts hidden door handles and
low wind resistance wheels, and the drag coefficient is only 0.23 Cd. The
length, width and height of the new car are 4820 mm/1890 mm/1480 mm respectively,
and the wheelbase is 2900 mm.
The new car provides a 14.6-inch full LCD
touch screen, a Qualcomm 8155 chip, and OTA upgrades. In addition, the new car
has multiple cameras and millimeter wave sensors to support L3+ intelligent
driving.
