British football club Forest Green Rovers has officially partnered with Renault Trucks to support its commitment to carbon neutrality and sustainable travel with its first 100% electric minibus, the Renault Trucks Master E-Tech. The eco-friendly electric minibus will be used to transfer Forest Green Rovers Academy and Women’s teams to run training, support local marketing events around Gloucestershire, and transport club sponsors and VIPs on matchdays.
Dale Vince, chairman of Forest Green
Rovers, said that Renault’s new minibus is a great addition to FGR’s growing
fleet of electric vehicles. The lime green and black-cloaked car for the EFL
league leaders team inspired by ‘Neville the Devil’ team mascot will use the
chassis of the new 14-seater, zero-emission L2H2 MWB minibus to replace the old
diesel model and pick up about 6.4 tonnes. CO2 from the road each year.
This Renault Master E-Tech offers a range
of approximately up to 128 km powered by an R75 electric motor and a
33kWh battery capacity charged using 100% green energy from electric company
Ecotricity, UK. In addition, this Master E-Tech was converted by Minibus
Options, one of the Renault Trucks approved converters from the Ready for
Business line that has been a leader in passenger transportation for more than
30 years.
Renault Trucks Head of Brand and
Communications, Alex Williams, stated that as the UK’s first commercial vehicle
dealer network to commit to achieving zero emissions by 2030, Renault Trucks
firmly shares Forest Green Rovers’ sustainability ambitions.
