Segway has just introduced their high performance electric scooter called the GT Series. The GT Series scooter is capable of reaching a maximum speed of up to 70 km/h, a speed high enough for a standing electric scooter. The GT1 is the first of two GT series models, has a 1,400 watt motor and a maximum output of 3 kW. The GT1 has a maximum speed of 37.5 miles per hour and a range of 44 miles from a 1-kWh battery under extra-wide floorboards.
Electrek reports, the appearance and
design are not like most scooters, because the Segway GT2 does not use small
8-inch wheels and a 350W electric motor like scooters in general. On the other
hand, the Segway GT2 improves its specs many times over. For the Segway GT2
variant, it comes with a speed of 50 kilometers per hour. The Segway GT2 has
two 1,500W motors that deliver 6 kilowatts of wheelie-popping peak power.
Maximum capability Segway GT2 can accelerate from zero to 30 miles per hour in
3.9 seconds.
The Segway GT2 is made of aircraft-grade
aluminum alloy and features 15 levels of adjustment in its suspension system
with a double-wishbone design up front. The GT2’s 1,512Wh battery pack is said
to provide up to 56 miles of range on a single charge. If the scooter is deemed
too fast, then the user can access the application on the cellphone to adjust
and reduce the power to make it easier to ride.
However, if the speed is still not fast
enough, the user can turn the option to ‘race track’ mode which offers more
instant acceleration and maximum speed. We recommend that you prepare a helmet
and other safety equipment if you want to try this mode.
