The Wuling Jiachen is a cheap seven-seater with only one engine and two transmissions to choose from, but attractively priced at 69,800 – 105,800 CNY.

Once maxed out, the vehicle has a 10.2-inch touchscreen display, a multi-function steering wheel, leatherette trim, a panoramic sunroof, and electronic handbrake and rear parking sensors. Such luxuries as multi-zone climate control and power adjustments for the seats are not available. Lower trim levels come with even less on board than this.

On the outside, the car is 4,785 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,760 mm tall with 2,760 mm of wheelbase. Its front wheels are driven by a Daewoo S-Tec III LL5 engine, a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-pot rated at 147 PS and 250 Nm of torque. You can choose between six-speed manual and CVT for the transmission.

You may have noticed that the interior layout is not what you would expect from an affordable seven-seater MPV. The typical layout for these is 2+3+2, with a bench seat for three passengers on the second row and two separate seats in the back row. In contrast, the Jiachen imitates premium compact vans with its 2+2+3 interior scheme.
