The latest-generation Nissan Qashqai has touched down on Aussie shores and will give consumers a new option of the booming compact SUV market. Four variants of the Qashqai will be offered in the local market, consisting of the ST, ST+, ST-L, and Ti. Customer deliveries will commence later this year. Powering all four versions is the same 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that now delivers 147 hp and 250 Nm of torque, representing gains of 4 kW (5.4 hp) and 50 Nm over the previous-generation SUV. Coupled to this upgraded engine is a newly-developed X-Tronic automatic transmission. Nissan Australia says the 2023 Qashqai can return a combined 6.1 l/100 km (38 U.S. mpg) over the combined cycle.
The range kicks off
with the ST priced from AU$33,890 ($23,276). This variant comes standard with
the likes of a rear camera, rear parking sensors, Forward Collision Warning
with Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning with Intelligent Lane
Intervention, Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, Traffic Sign Recognition,
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with AEB, Intelligent Cruise Control, and High Beam
Assist. An 8.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay And Android Auto is
standard, as is a six-speaker audio system.
Those looking for a little more luxury can
opt for the ST+, available from AU$ 37,890 (US$ 26,023). This model includes fog
lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless
Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, satellite navigation, and an Around View
Monitor. Next in the Qashqai family is the AU$ 42,190 (US$ 28,977) ST-L. It comes
standard with Nissan’s ProPILOT semi-autonomous driving and safety aids,
adaptive LED headlights, privacy glass, LED turn signals, 19-inch alloys,
dual-zone climate control, and an eight-way powered driver’s seat.
Last but not leas is the AU$ 47,390
(US$ 32,548) Qashqai Ti. It is equipped with a 10.8-inch head-up display, a
premium quilted leather accented interior with massage function on the front
seats, hands-free power tailgate, and a 10-speaker premium Bose audio system.
