The Ather 450X Gen 3 electric scooter has been unveiled in India. It is a smart e-scooter with a range of 105km, better than its predecessor with an 85km range. The Ather 450X Gen 3 has a new 3.7kWh Lithium-ion battery and offers significant performance improvements over the 450X. The e-scooter is available in several Indian cities on pre-order currently.
The certified range of the 450X Gen 3 is
146 km. It delivers up to 105 km in Eco mode while it can deliver up to 65 km in
Warp mode. In between the Eco and Warp, there are the Ride and Sport modes. The
450X Gen 3 tires offer up to 22% better grip during turns and in braking.
The new scooter comes
with 2GB of RAM and provides greater functionality and speed when navigating
apps on the instrument cluster. The new e-scooter also offers improved
graphics, voice assistant support, more comprehensive diagnostics, and parallel
apps running. The mirrors of the new Ather scooter offer greater reliability
and visibility. The model also comes with a side step for the pillion although
this is not compatible with the other models. Fast charging is supported in the
Ather 450X Gen 3 than in previous models. The onboard system is powered by the
Snapdragon 212 quad-core 1.3GHz chip.
The new Ather e-scooter comes in Space
Grey, White, and Mint Colors. Deliveries are expected to start this month. The
company says that customers who had booked for the 450X from 2020 will be
upgraded to the 450X Gen 3 automatically. The prices of the 450X Gen 3 vary
from Rs. 137,612 (US$ 1,723) to Rs. 157,402 (US$ 1,971). The cost includes the
applicable FAME II taxes, Ather Dot/ Portable charger, and performance upgrade.
