Italian motorcycle brand Ducati has released two Scrambler-branded electric bikes. The Scrambler Ducati SCR-X and SCR-E GT are both foldable and reflect an innovative design. Scrambler is a rugged and retro-inspired arm of Ducati. The two new e-bikes are expected to start selling by mid-July 2022.
Ducati has an array of popular and rugged
motorcycles and it is gradually expanding its electric lineup. Ducati has also
enjoyed significant successes in racing and hopes to expand such success to its
e-mobility business. Ducati already has several electric kick scooters and
foldable e-bikes for urban mobility. The SCR-X and SCR-E GT e-bikes were
developed by the Centro Stile Ducati and Platinum. Both models come with
similar designs but thanks to its Knobby tires, the SCR-E GT is the more rugged
model. A 48V motor is present in both models as well.
The Ducati Scrambler SCR-X and SCR-E GT
are designed for a pleasurable and sustainability-oriented urban riding
experience. The SCR-X has a telescopic front suspension, an integrated rear
rack that can carry up to 25 kg of luggage, and 20 x 4.0-inch tires. Its 499Wh
removable battery can deliver a range of 80 km on a full charge. The SCR-X has a
top speed of 25 km/h and the battery can be charged separately. The SCR-E GT is
capable of a bit of off-road movement thanks to its rugged tires. It can
navigate on gravel roads, sand, or light trails. The SCR-E GT sports a more
durable frame and offers the same speed/ range parameters as the SCR-X.
The Ducati Scrambler SCR-X and SCR-E GT
e-bikes have an aluminum frame that is easily foldable and can fit in the trunk
of a car. The Bafang hub-mounted electric motor in the new e-bikes can output a
maximum torque of 60 Nm. The e-bikes also have a 7-speed transmission that
allows the rider to modulate various riding speeds. The e-bike can be used as a
regular bicycle if desired as a workout tool.
The waterproof LCD display on the bike
enables the rider to monitor riding information like speed, battery life, and
assist level. Availability and pricing details for the new Ducati folding
e-bikes are not available yet.
