Manhart unveiled the second out of ten examples of their DP 500, a tuned version of the Defender 110 P400 AWD coming with increased power output and a sportier appearance. Following the first DP 500 from last year, the new DP 500 brings a slightly different spec for a Dubai customer. Unlike the off-road-focused Defender we recently saw in Manhart’s renderings, the DP 500 kit is destined for the tarmac, as proven by the massive 24-inch alloy wheels shod in ultra-low-profile tires (295/30ZR24). For those who want something more sensible, Manhart is also offering 22-inch wheels as an option.
Wheels aside, the DP 500 is distinguished
by body-coloured wide fender add-ons, the new pattern for the bumper intakes,
and discreet stickers on the profile. Inside this specific Defender build
boasts new leather and Alcantara upholestry, but Manhart also offers the
optional ErgoMed seats from Recaro with cooling, heating and integrated
airbags.
Other modifications include a new
stainless steel exhaust system with extra carbon or ceramic-coated tailpipes,
uprated brakes with red callipers, and a 30 mm drop in the air
suspension. Under the bonnet, the P400 AWD variant is fitted with a
turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine. Manhart’s software upgrade
brings 505 hp and 710 Nm of torque, which
represents a healthy increase over the stock model’s 395 hp and 550 Nm.
The tuning shop didn’t reveal the cost of
the modifications which may vary according to the owners preferences. What we
expect now is to see Manhart’s off-road prepped Defender come to life,
