Commercial vehicles and minivans are not the most popular candidates for tuning, yet occasionally some of them get modified anyway. The latest example is the all-new Mercedes-Benz Citan which received a series of styling and suspension upgrades from German tuner Vansports. The Citan benefits from a new set of dual-tone double-spoke 19-inch aluminum wheels shod in 235/35R19 tires. With the help of 10 mm spacers, they admittedly improve the looks of the small van that has adopted a more stylish body in its latest generation.

Another cool touch is the black fender add-ons made of PU-RIM, giving the Citan a crossoverish style. The pictured model is a Citan Tourer but the updates are also available for the panel van (LCV). Setting aside some differences in the trim, the Citan is sharing its body panels with the more passenger-focused Mercedes T-Class, so we guess it will also be compatible with Vansport’s updates. In terms of the suspension, Vansport is offering two different options. Those who prioritize handling should opt for the lowered suspension bringing the Citan 30 mm closer to the ground, in combination with “slightly stiffer characteristics”, amplifying the dynamic abilities of the model. Owners with a more active lifestyle will probably go for the raised springs that will be available soon, offering increased ground clearance for light off-roading. Vansports claims that the latter will come in handy for lakeside fishing, or for those working on construction sites.

 

The modifications for the Citan don’t end there, since Vansports is working on a “CP Stream” front bumper add-on made from ABS, side skirt extensions and larger exhaust pipes for a sportier look. Protective sidebars finished in matte black will be offered for the raised Citan models, alongside a protective strip for the loading sill.

The tuner hasn’t shown us photos of the cabin, but they announced a bunch of interior upgrades for this fall including leather trim, hydrographic treatment, new floor mats, aluminum door sill panels, and aluminum pedals. Vansports is a sub-brand of Heinz Hartmann GmbH, specializing in modifying Mercedes-Benz LCVs. The tuner offered similar updates for the previous generation of the Citan, and has presented various packages for the Vito and the larger Sprinter with either performance- or off-road-focused style.
