Genesis has just introduced the 2023 GV80 in Australia, complete with a series of upgrades that should make it even more appealing to local shoppers. The most significant upgrade made for 2023 is the availability of a revised tune for the Electric Control Suspension (ECS) offered on the 3.0-liter diesel inline-six and 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6. Genesis says this new tune has been designed to “better manage body control movements across certain road speeds,” and make the GV80 feel “a bit more tied down.”
Elsewhere, the automaker has updated the
GV80’s Genesis Integrated Controller (GIC) that is used to control the
infotainment display. The controller is no longer a concave dial and is instead
a raised dial similar to what is found in the smaller GV70. This controller
also now features a handwriting recognition function that lets users enter a
navigation address by writing it on the central touchpad. Sitting at the base
of the range is the standard 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder model priced
from AU$ 92,200 (US$ 65,462). This model is rear-wheel drive and the engine muscles
out 300 hp and 422 Nm of torque. It comes packed with
features, although the only novelty for 2023 are rear brake caliper covers with
a Genesis inscription.
Sitting above this model in the range is
the Genesis GV80 2.5T AWD. Priced from AU$ 97,200 (US$ 69,012), it obviously adds
all-wheel drive and also comes with a Tire Mobility Kit, 7-seats, a reversible
cargo area mat, and manual temperature control and air vents for the third row.
Next in the GV80 family is the 3.0D AWD with a 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel
inline-six rated at 273 hp and 588 Nm. It also features
Road Preview Electronic Control Suspension, an electromechanical limited-slip
differential, 22-inch alloy wheels, PTC electric heater, and a hidden exhaust.
It starts at AU$ 105,200 (US$ 74,692).
Last but not least is the AU$ 109,700
(US$ 77,887) GV80 3.5T AWD, complete with the automaker’s flagship 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged
V6 with 375 hp and 530 Nm. All models can be optioned with
a AU$ 10,500 (US$ 7,455) Luxury Package, while the 2.5T AWD, 3.0D AWD, and 3.5T AWD
are also available with a AU$ 13,500 (US$ 9,585)> six-seat luxury package. The
final option is AU$ 2,000 (US$ 1,420) matte paint.
