The full-size Chery Arrizo 8 sedan will hit the market in China in September with a rather humble selection of engines, both in terms of variety and power. The saloon – which was originally shown three months ago – is 4,780 mm long, 1,843 mm wide and 1,469 mm tall with 2,790 mm between the axles. It runs on a FWD chassis and makes use of per-wheel rear suspension.

If you feel like saving money and the environment, the 1.5L turbo is your engine to go for. It makes 156 PS and 230 Nm and links to a CVT box. The top speed is 195 km/h, and there is no official sprint time.

The other option is a 1.6L turbo spec with 197 PS and 290 Nm of torque at its disposal. This one benefits from a dual-wet-clutch transmission with seven gears to hop among, and tops out slightly higher at 205 km/h. A plug-in hybrid variant is also in the works with no release date so far.

In the most basic trim, the Arrizo 8 has 10 airbags and two 12.3-inch displays in the cabin. There is an optional HUD with AR support, a panoramic suroof, power front seat adjustments, face recognition, drowsiness warning, ACC and more. The manufacturer promises a choice between two main design profiles – standard and sports.

Prices remain to be announced.
