Yamaha has announced a refreshed iteration of its E-Vino electric scooter in Japan. The E-Vino is a retro-styled scooter that is only available in the Japanese market. The new updates include an expanded range and new color options, amongst others.
The Yamaha E-Vino is based on the Vino
scooter which had huge followership in Japan due to its affordability and ease
of use. The new model retains the great utility functionality of its
predecessor with added width. It has a modest range of 32km suitable for daily
urban commutes. The e-scooter weighs 68kg which is as light as it can get. Its
12.2Ah battery can be fully charged in three hours and the scooter comes with
10-inch tires. The E-Vino has a 1.2kW AC synchronous motor with a torque of
7.8Nm. The new model is expected to have a top speed higher than its
predecessor.
The new colorway introduced on the E-Vino
2023 model adds some aesthetics to its design. It has a cyan and white option
as well as a white and black model. Yamaha says the cyan/white design gives off
an incredibly appealing look reflective of its zero-emissions objective.
The Yamaha E-Vino e-scooter 2023 edition
will retail in Japan for ¥ 314,600 (US$ 2,244) and would be available on September
30. The Yamaha E-Vino will be on display at Yamaha Showrooms in Japan. The
range of the E-Vino and its underwhelming charging speed (three hours) could
affect the reception it gets. However, it still retains its iconic retro-styled
features that evince reminiscences from its fans.
