The Leapmotor C01 – a flagship saloon over five meters long packed with premium options – will go on sale in China in late September priced between 180,000 and 270,000 Yuan (US$ 26,400 – 39,000).
In its most basic form, the car makes use
of a single electric motor rated at 272 PS and 360 Nm of torque. Opt for a twin-motor spec, and you will be looking at 544 PS and 720 Nm. The driving range maxes out at 717 km, and the top spec needs 3.7 seconds for its 0-100 km/h launch.
On the outside, the car measures 5,050 x
1,902 x 1,509 mm L/W/H with a wheelbase spanning 2,930 mm. The drag ratio is
remarkably low at just 0.226. The traction battery is mounted under the floor
and doubles as a reinforcement.
A 12.8-inch infotainment display sits in
the middle of the dashboard, surrounded by a pair of 10.2-inch screens for the
driver and the front passenger. Hardware buttons are kept down to a minimum,
the cabin is wrapped in Nappa leather, and there is a panoramic sunroof
occupying nearly the entire roof area. Leapmotor already has four production
cars in its portfolio, including the C01, the compact-sized T03, the S01 coupe
and the C11 SUV.
