Even as the environmental standards grow stricter in Europe with each passing month, Mercedes reckoned it could afford to keep the V8 alive for a while longer in its AMG GT lineup. One such coupe has been now spotted at the Nürburgring.
It looks like the fixed-top AMG GT gets
the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as the SL Roadster in its 55 and 63
modifications. The official premiere is expected in the coming few months, but
in the meantime, this is what the second generation of the car looks like on
the North Loop.
At least one of the prototypes spotted
clearly looked like it benefited from four-wheel steering. As far as the design
is concerned, we expect the new AMG GT to be very similar to the SL Coupe on
the outside and inside: more carbon and other sporty trim bits all around.
