Alpha Motor Corporation is taking pre-orders for a new car unlike any others it has revealed so far. Dubbed the Montage Coupe, it pays homage to the classic British sports cars of the 1950s and comes in a strictly limited series priced from US$ 499,000.
The Montage relies on just one electric
motor rated at 204 PS, driving the rear wheels through a
single-reduction gearbox. The battery capacity is not stated, but Alpha says it
is a custom-made lithium-ion battery pack capable of 400 km of
range or close to that.
Aside from only two seats, the cabin
offers a retro dashboard featuring large analog gauges encased with chrome
bezels. The center console houses large air vents also trimmed with chrome and
a classic radio. Modern touches, such as a digital odometer and a high-end
audio system, dilute the vintage atmosphere to a certain degree.
