The updated MG Hector will be the next model to roll out under the British automaker’s stable in India. While the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed its launch date, the official teaser hints at its imminent launch. Reports suggest that the new 2023 MG Hector facelift might debut in December, followed by its market launch on 5th January. The SUV’s updated model recently revealed in a bunch of clear images showing its design changes.
Upfront, the SUV receives a newly-designed
chrome mesh grille, updated bumper and redesigned headlamps with slim LED DRLs.
The carmaker might also make a few changes to its side and rear profile. The
teasers reveal that the Hector facelift will have a significantly updated
interior with a new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The unit will be
benefited with the Next-Gen i-Smart technology and wireless Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto connectivity.
There will be a dual-tone interior theme
with dual-layer dashboard, piano black and chrome treatment and D-shaped AC vents.
The new 2023 MG Hector facelift is expected to be packed with Advanced Driver
Assistance System (ADAS) offering features such as adaptive cruise control,
automatic emergency braking, rear driver assist, lane keep assist, speed assist
system, blind spot detection and intelligent headlamp control. It will also
have a fully digital 7-inch configurable instrument cluster.
Under the hood, the new 2023 MG Hector
facelift will continue to employ the 1.5L turbo petrol hybrid and 2.0L turbo
diesel engines. The petrol hybrid motor pushes out a peak power of 143 PS and
250 Nm of torque. The oil burner delivers a claimed power of 170 PS and 350 Nm of
torque. Transmission duties will be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox (standard)
and a CVT automatic unit (available only on the petrol hybrid variants).
Official details on the new Hector SUV will be revealed next month.
