The base 2023 Subaru WRX will cost customers US$ 1,525 more in 2023 than it did in 2022. That’s because of an MSRP increase of US$ 1,500 and a destination fee that is US$ 25 more expensive in the coming model year. In all, customers will be asked to pay a total of US$ 31,625 (US$ 30,605 + US$ 1,020 destination fee) for the warmed up sedan, which is largely a carryover of the 2022 model. As was the case last year, the Subaru WRX will be offered in four different trim levels: WRX, WRX Premium, WRX Limited, and WRX GT.
All will be offered with the same
2.4-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder, boxer engine that makes a maximum of
271 hp at 5,600 rpm and 350 Nm of torque between
2,000 and 5,200 rpm. Active torque vectoring is also standard across the
lineup, and a six speed manual transmission is offered alongside a CVT
transmission for all models, except the highest-trim GT model, which cannot be
bought with the standard transmission.
The CVT transmission adds US$ 1,850 to the
price of the base model WRX, and it brings with it Subaru‘s EyeSight driver
assistance tech and adaptive cruise control. With the option, the model starts
at US$ 33,475. In either case, it comes with 17-inch alloy wheels as well as
dual seven-inch infotainment screens with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among
other features.
The WRX Premium, meanwhile, starts at US$ 34,125,
and adds 18-inch alloy wheels with a dark gray finish wrapped in summer tires.
It also gets LED fog lights, a low-profile rear spoiler, premium seat fabric,
dual-zone climate control, more USB ports, and heated front seats. It also gets
an upgraded 11.6-inch multimedia screen as standard, and an 11-speaker Harman
Kardon speaker system and moonroof can be added for another US$ 1,875. The WRX
Limited builds from there, adding steering-responsive LED headlights, blind
spot detection, lane change assist, ultrasuede-trimmed seats, and a power
driver’s seat. The 11-speaker Harman Kardon speaker system comes standard, as
does navigation on the 11.6-inch infotainment screen. Prices for the model
start at US$ 38,515.
Finally, the WRX GT is the most luxurious
trim, which is why it only comes with the CVT transmission. It also comes with
exclusive electronically controlled dampers that can be tuned for Comfort,
Normal, or Sport through the infotainment screen, which can also control
several other aspects of the vehicle’s performance. It comes with Recaro
Performance Design front seats that are trimmed in black ultrasuede, and are
power adjustable in eight directions. The car also gets 18-inch aluminum alloy
wheels that are finished in matte gray and paired to 245/40 R18 summer
performance tires. Subaru’s full suite of advanced safety technology is also
offered. Prices for the model start at US$ 44,415.
The 2023 Subaru WRX is set to arrive at dealerships this coming Spring.
