Chery has obtained the certificates for its Tiggo 9 flagship SUV in China, AutoHome reports adding that the patent office also revealed some of the main parameters of the car. Coming in at 4,820 mm long, 1,930 mm wide and 1,699 mm tall with 2,820 mm between the axles, the Tiggo 9 is larger than the marque’s previous flagship, the Tiggo 8 Pro. It has at least three wheel designs to choose from and two c-pillar styling options – solid black and with overlaid graphics.

In its wallet-friendliest guise, the new SUV uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It drives the wheels with 254 PS and 390 Nm of torque through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. AutoHome believes Chery may also offer another 2.0T spec with 261 PS and 400 Nm of torque at the output end. Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, this engine may become standard for the AWD version.

Price-wise, the media expect the SUV to start in the general area of 200,000 Yuan (US$ 28,700). The premiere may take place at the Guangzhou Auto Show later this year, but the sales will likely not begin until 2023.

The gallery below shows the Tiggo 9 in unofficial shots made earlier this month. As you can see, the side view especially evokes associations with Range Rover SUVs.
