Ferrari has unleashed a barely cladded prototype on its Fiorano Circuit for some testing. We believes the company plans to add a high-end special edition to the SF90 Stradale lineup, possibly named SF90 VS, for ‘Versione Speciale’. Only select front end elements are disguised, possibly because there are aerodynamic mods in those areas. For one thing, the front splitter looks elaborate and downright massive.

The tail-end appears stock, but changes are decent that Ferrari decides to refresh it as well, making it a bit longer and curvier. A similar design solution can be found in the McLaren’s LongTail lineup, where it raises the top speed. A host of carbon-fiber parts should help keep the weight slightly under that of the original SF90.

It remains to be seen what engine the supposed VS coupe will get. The standard spec – both the coupe and the Spider – commands 1,000 PS of hybrid power and can sprint 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds.
