The Bentley Continental GT and GTC have reached middle age, so the company is working on a relatively small facelift. Caught undergoing cold weather testing, the prototypes don’t look too remarkable at first glance. While the massive light bar undoubtedly draws attention, we’re more interested in the subtle styling tweaks that include a lightly revised front bumper and an updated grille. We can also see camouflage on the headlights and this suggests they’ll be freshened as well.
The minor changes continue out back as we
can see new taillights and what appears to be a sportier bumper. The exhaust tips are also new and they’re
inspired by the dual ovals found on the Speed and Mulliner variants. We only
get a few glimpses of the cabin, but main components appear to carryover. As a result, we’ll likely find a familiar
digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. These could be accompanied by minor changes
and we’ll likely get a better idea of what to expect in the coming months.
Bentley is embracing electrification and
has previously announced plans to only offer plug-in hybrids and electric
vehicles by 2026. As a result, the
Continental lineup is getting plug-in hybrid power. The powertrain will likely
mimic the Flying Spur Hybrid, which has a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 engine, an 18
kWh battery pack, and a 134 hp electric motor. This setup gives the sedan a combined output
of 536 hp and 750 Nm of torque as well as an EPA
estimated electric-only range of 21 miles.
The facelifted Bentley Continental lineup
is expected to be introduced later this year and the ICE-powered variants
should stick around for a little longer.
