The FAW Technology Development and Innovation Center is showcasing a rather unrealistic-looking minivan study at the Guangzhou show. According to AutoHome, the vehicle is purely experimental and lacks traditional wheels – please don’t ask us how it is supposed to move around. The exterior of the design study is meant to preview the direction FAW will be going on in the next few years. As you can see, there are numerous golden accents both inside and out.

The futuristic look largely comes from solid panels where the wheel arches are supposed to be. The front panels jut forward, while the radiator grille is inclined backwards. The side panels are actually sliding doors that stretch to almost the full height of the MPV. There are no b-pillars in the construction, resulting in a wide opening for passengers to get in and out easily. The cabin has an impressively large glass dome and seats only four passengers on individual seats separated by consoles.

There are no conventional car controls, but a large display and a touch panel. The trim scheme largely uses light-hued fabric and leather. It seems that FAW is planning on introducing mass-market minivans inspired by this concept later on.
