Few vehicles have quite the same road presence as the Mercedes-AMG G 63 and thanks to plenty of modifications, Carlex Design has made one that is even more outlandish than most. The tuner dubs its creation the Mint&Gold Edition and it’s easy to see why. The entire exterior of the car is clad in a striking shade of mint green. Carlex has then fitted it with a set of massive 23-inch wheels with a gold finish, a carbon fiber spare wheel cover, a carbon fiber front grille, and new Carlex badges.
As we’ve come to expect from the Polish
firm, the interior of the G-Class has also been overhauled and will appeal to
those wanting to make a very dramatic statement. Just like the exterior, the
cabin is bathed almost exclusively in a mint green finish with a combination of
leather and Alcantara parts. Among the parts wrapped in leather include the
seats, door panels, dashboard, steering wheel, and transmission tunnel while
Alcantara is found on the headliner and pillars.
The changes made are so comprehensive that
even the inside of the rear tailgate is clad in a mixture of mint green leather
and Alcantara. Having a Mercedes-AMG G 63 outfitted with modifications like
these isn’t cheap. In fact, the upgrades made by Carlex for this G-Class cost a
cool € 51,000 (US$ 53,803).
No mechanical modifications have been made
to the vehicle. As such, it continues to be powered by the standard 4.0-liter
twin-turbocharged V8 rated at 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, enough to send it
to 96 km/h in 4.4 seconds and through to a 240 km/h top
speed.
